We Knife’s Stunning New EDC Blade Boasts a Tactical Edge and Three Deployment Methods

It probably goes without saying, but being taken seriously as a premium knife brand goes well beyond a few awesome releases.

Nope, to honestly claim that identity, you’ve got to be able to make excellent products consistently over time, to the point where dropping a lemon really feels like an anomaly.

From tip to tail, the Zentron’s beauty and quality are pretty immediately apparent.

Having kept tabs on We Knife for years now, I believe it is safe to say the 25-year-old Yangjiang, China-based brand qualifies.

The latest piece of evidence? A new knife that’s the polar opposite of a lemon, the great-looking, high-performance Zentron. 

Tactical edge

One big reason this knife gets my attention is the business end, which is equal parts eye-catching and effective. 

Doesn’t hurt that it is made of Böhler M390, a super steel known for its wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and edge retention.

As all business as it is, the Zentron still boasts some funky, almost art deco-like decorations.

Here it is rendered into a tactical Tanto silhouette measuring a beefy 3.48 inches, with a flat grind and a satin finish. 

The overall effect is quite potent: when it comes to everyday use, you should have no problem cutting through all the tape and cardboard and twine and food that comes your way, whether you’re moving about town or slipping into the backcountry.

With super steel and titanium, the Zentron is still no bantamweight, tipping the scales at 4.61 ounces.

Multi deployment

Seasoned EDC vets can probably ID its two main deployments and de facto third just by looking at an image or two. G’head and mentally note them, then keep reading.

The third option does require a small flick of the wrist, an action you must take after pressing the button part of the button lock. 

While this element’s main function is to return the blade to the funky-shaped titanium handle, a reversal of that action will have the blade ready to rock at a moment’s notice.
