The top spot in drinkware tends to change hands every few years. Not long ago, the Stanley Quencher craze dominated social media, and now, Owala appears to be the bottle of choice.

While trends come and go, Yeti has remained a steadfast favorite thanks to its durable construction and expansive catalog of adventure-and-everyday-ready drinkware and accessories.

Its newest release, the Bottle Flip Chug Cap, looks eerily similar to Owala’s massively popular FreeSip bottle … and might just let Yeti steal the spotlight.

The 100-percent leakproof design features a covered spout with a lockable lid that can easily be flipped up for sipping on the go.

To lock the lid and prevent it from swinging open, when you’re done drinking, simply twist the integrated C-lock collar to the left, and the lid will stay in place.

The lack of a straw seems like a design drawback, but the lightweight and affordable lid’s compatibility with all existing Rambler bottles scores points by letting you upgrade products you already own.

Yeti quietly released the Bottle Flip Chug Cap yesterday, and fans are already responding; the cap on its own has already sold out. (The 18- and 26-ounce bottles featuring the new sip-friendly lid are still available, for early access members only.)

Availability and pricing

The Bottle Flip Chug Cap is available on Yeti’s website now for early access members.

The new lid style is featured on the 18- and 26-ounce Rambler Bottles, which retail for $32 and $40, respectively.
