The North Face is out to change how your interact with your backpack and gear. The new Access Pack prioritizes ease of access with a spring-loaded main compartment that is opened with the touch of a button. The pack sports a steel frame and durable foam body, and it weighs just over four pounds, but it’s the emphasis on increased function that’s most notable. Convenience is not limited to the easy-open top, the main compartments is also loaded with pockets designed for your EDC electronics and accessing them as quickly as possible.
The range of pockets — sized for a laptop, tablet, cellphone, respectively — all have unique pull tabs to get to your stored gear faster. The tabs are connected to each pocket’s liner, so when pulled, the liner raises, effectively pulling the gear out of the pocket. This pack boasts the quality you’d get from The North Face’s Summit Series packs, but in a design perfect for the urban commuter.
