In recent years, crepe soles — commonly associated with Clarks Desert Boots — have proliferated into a wide range of shoe and boot styles. The soles, made from textured sheets of coagulated latex, are noticeably flexible, a feature that contributes to each wearer’s comfort. Stacked crepe sole are also in line with recent trends; they give shoes a slightly chunkier appearance, rebelling against the polished, sleek aesthetic of modern dress shoes. Crepe soles were originally employed in warm-weather footwear, making them an ideal choice for an upgrade to summer shoes.
