Eyewear brand Revo released a limited-edition reissue of the sunglasses it designed for the third man on the moon, astronaut Pete Conrad. The launch celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing (July 20, 1969), and honors Revo’s connection to NASA.

Conrad was the third man to walk on the moon during the Apollo 12 mission in 1969 and later became Revo’s first brand ambassador in 1988. The partnership made sense because Revo was founded by Mitch Ruda, a NASA astrophysicist and optical engineer in ’85. (Some of his work with NASA focused on developing coatings to protect satellite porthole windows for space radiation.) Since Ruda was also an avid skier, he later applied his innovations to civilian-ready eyewear when he founded Revo.

The new Moonwalker Zero G frame is made in Japan and features updated materials like lightweight titanium and shatterproof Serilium+ lenses. The release is limited to 500 pieces, so if you want a high-performance frame with some of the best materials available, act fast.
