Ralph Lauren alum Antonio Ciongoli has built up a dedicated following throughout his career thanks to his sharp eye for design, tailoring and texture. His current brand 18east has been keeping fans in anticipation with chunky knits, relaxed silhouettes and amazing color palettes, all released in small runs in drop fashion.
Releasing today, its first drop of the winter season is a head-to-toe double collaboration that looks to the misty mystique of Aran fisherman for inspiration. They traveled to Ireland to work with storied knitwear brand Inis Meaín on a capsule composed of knits with their own unique take on the historic Aran sweater. The winter-ready pieces feature Donegal cashmere, hand-embroidered details, matching watch caps made from the excess yarns and handwoven belts.
The winter drop also features a set of footwear inspired by those worn by Aran fishermen. Made in collaboration with heritage footwear brand Padmore & Barnes, the original manufacturer of the famed Clarks Wallabee shoe, the exclusive crepe-soled silhouettes are made with a single piece of English Pony Hair and English suedes and fasten via an asymmetric side tie with rawhide laces. Alongside the heritage-inspired shoe also comes in a low-top monk-strap version available in the same premium materials
