Canadian bootmaker Viberg just released a new version of its Derby boot in a very special stamped leather. The WWI military-issue style is made with Horween Drywear shell cordovan. This is the first time the Horween’s Drywear print has been used on shell cordovan — in the ’50s it was used to brand the Chicago tannery’s waterproof leather program — and, the resulting texture is unlike anything else on the market.
Though not inexpensive at $1,290 a pair, these boots feature a leather toe puff and a new vegetable-tanned kip lining. And for added luxury, the style is made with a French binding around the top of the boot. Like Viberg’s other styles, the Derby boot is made with stitchdown construction and can be rebuilt after years of wear.
These boots are available in very limited numbers, so if you’re an aficionado of top-tier boots and want something unique, act fast.
From rugged engineer boots to office-friendly brogues, these are the pairs you should invest in. Read the Story
