Hoka’s New Urban Sneaker Comes with Rugged Trail Chops and a Cult Following

Now back with a waterproof liner, Hoka’s hardwearing city shoe looks ready to go the distance.

Indeed, the Stinson Evo lacks the notoriety of names like Clifton, Bondi and Speedgoat.

But the shoe’s monstrous stack height, lightweight reputation and dramatic upper have made it a cult classic among the Hoka fatithful.

Little wonder, then, that the brand decided to reissue the shoe in 2024, only to make it the hero design of a collaborative release with Haven last fall.

Months later, the Stinson Evo appears to have earned starting position on Hoka’s spring roster, with a pair of new colorways — black and “Foggy Grey” — now joining the fold.

As was the case with Haven’s rendition, the new variants boast speed laces and a rugged outsole, as well as a Gore-Tex liner for an added barriers against the elements.

Meanwhile, nubuck overlays bring an upscale element for urban wear.

In a nod to the original Stinson Evo, which came out in 2012, the heel panels read “Hoka One One.” The brand officially dropped One One from its name in 2021.

Availability and pricing

Newly listed on Hoka’s website, the forthcoming Stinson Evo GTX is expected to release in the coming weeks. It costs $190.
