The world of luxury low-tops is verily dominated by Common Project’s famed Achilles sneaker, but not far behind is Belgian designer Martin Margiela’s “Replica” sneaker. The Replica, based off a German army training sneaker during the Cold War, is most known premium material, triangular suede overlay, leather upper and gum sole.
The most popular colorway is, as it is with most premium low-tops, the classic white; but the just-released wave of colorways may give it a run for its money. White on black, blue on white, red and grey on white and more (including the objective choice for best-looking, black on black).
Starting at $399, the newest version of Margiela’s modern icon of a sneaker is available now, and sizes are thinning out fast.
