Vans’ New Tactile Style Is Missing From Its Site — Here’s Where to Find It

This textured, summery spin on an Off the Wall classic isn’t on Vans’ site — but one specialty retailer still has all three hues (for now).

Vans sneakers are enduring classics, but even the most tried-and-true designs can benefit from a remix now and then.

The recently released Premium Slip-On 98 EK Sneaker trades traditional materials for something more dynamic and breathable, making for an excellent demonstration of the benefits of reinvention.

There’s just one catch: you won’t find it on the Vans website. Instead, the flat-soled, style-forward shoe is quietly sitting at a specialty menswear retailer … for now. Stock is limited, and sizes are already moving fast.

Vans is already a step above the competition when it comes to slip-on sneakers; there’s really no comparison when it comes to comfort, style and popularity.

That doesn’t mean the 60-year-old brand rests on its laurels, though. The new Premium Slip-On 98 EK Sneaker gives the reliable style a fresh twist via a material swap that’s both breathable and cool.

The classic canvas upper usually found on the Premium Slip-On has been replaced with a refined knit upper.

Even with the summer-ready material swap, the shoe’s iconic checkerboard pattern is retained. The effect is a playful yet sophisticated take on a well-known silhouette.

The updated classic is available in three colorways: Checkerboard Red/Marshmallow, Checkerboard Black/Marshmallow and Checkerboard Black/Yellow.

The long-lasting outsole, vulcanized construction paired with upgraded internal cushioning and elastic side accents for easy on-and-off remain on the premium slip-on as well.

Availability and pricing

The Premium Slip-On 98 EK Sneaker is available via Huckberry’s site for $100 — but stock is limited and selling through quickly.

Given the already scarce nature of this style, it’s worth picking up a pair now before they’re potentially gone for good.
