The Fluance RT84 normally sells for $450, but it’s on sale on Amazon and the company’s website for $382 right now. If you’re looking for a nice turntable and you don’t want to spend more than $500, the RT84 is a great one to consider.
Fluance makes some of our favorite bang-for-your-buck turntables and bookshelf speakers that you can find, and the RT84 is one of the company’s highest-end turntables. It has the same aluminum platter as the company’s more affordable turntables, like the RT82 and RT81, but its big difference is that it comes with a higher-end Ortofon cartridge with an elliptical diamond stylus for more accurate playback.
Like those other turntables, the RT84 does not include a built-in preamp, meaning if you want it to be able to drive your bookshelf speakers you’ll need either an external preamp or to have speakers with a built-in phono preamp.
