This Special Edition Bronze Dive Watch Is Achingly Beautiful

In honor of Bucherer’s upcoming 130th anniversary, Tudor turned its bronze diver blue.

Swiss-based watch retailer Bucherer will be celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2018. To celebrate, the retailer has been collaborating with a variety of watchmakers to create a series of special editions, each prominently featuring the color blue.

Several collaborations have already been released — including pieces from IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Audemars Piguet — but the latest edition with Tudor might be the most stunning. Starting with the Heritage Black Bay Bronze diver, Bucherer and Tudor have swapped the brown dial and aluminum bezel insert in favor of a rich navy blue and mounted it all on a blue and bronze-colored fabric strap. That’s pretty much it. The rest of the watch, from the COSC-certified in-house automatic movement to the 43mm bronze case, remains intact, but the changes in color really give the watch a completely different personality, and the bronze accents pop against the blue in a very satisfying way.

The watch will retail for $3,834 (3,800 Swiss Francs, the same as the Standard Black Bay Bronze), and is only available through Bucherer — so if you want one, hightail it to one of Bucherer’s European shops.
