Timex just released an affordable diver-inspired watch with Brooklyn-based sneaker brand Greats. Ryan Babenzien, the founder of Greats, drew on memories of his childhood on the beaches of Fire Island in the late ‘70s when he designed the 43mm Bayman watch. The style is an homage to the diver-style watches worn by the Great South Bay clammers and features a dark-blue face and dial along with Indiglo markers.
Retailing for $105, the watch has a modest build including a silver-tone brass case, a mineral glass crystal and quartz movement. With a nylon strap and water resistance of 100 meters, the Bayman is a functional watch that wouldn’t be out of place in any beach-oriented activity. If you’re into the style, pick one up quickly — the collab is available in limited quantities.
