Once upon a time, Grand Seiko was a brand known only in Japan — once its only market — and to watch enthusiasts elsewhere that were in the know. But that’s quickly changing. Grand Seiko launched internationally in 2010 and has pushed its way into other markets worldwide. It certainly seems to have its eyes set on the United States. Earlier this month it even established a U.S.-based subsidiary — and, what’s more, it’s debuting a trio of U.S.-exclusive limited edition watches, a first for the brand.

Thus, we have the SBGA384G, SBGA385G and SBGA387G. All three watches are powered by Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive movement, a mechanically-powered watch with an electronic regulator that provides quartz-like accuracy and a smooth sweeping seconds hand. That’s housed in a 40mm case design boasting the brand’s signature Zaratsu polishing. But from there the watches differ. The SBGA384G comes in rose gold, the SBGA385G rocks platinum and the SBGA387G features humble stainless steel. Each comes with a textured dial reminiscent of the iconic “Snowflake” design in a hue that complements the choice of case material.

All three watches are available at Grand Seiko retailers and boutiques. The stainless steel version will retail for $6,800, the rose gold version is $29,500 and you’ll pay a whopping $53,000 for platinum.
