TAG Heuer needs no introduction here, but their new Autavia collection may need some explaining — just in time for Father’s Day. Heuer’s Autavia is usually associated with the brand’s 60’s Chronographs, but the 2019 relaunch of the collection is distinctly modern — while staying true to its authentic roots. The collection has a variety of material and color variations to choose from, making it easy to find the right combination in time for Father’s Day. The smokey dial comes in black, grey, blue, khaki and brown all with clear hour markers for an easy read. The Autavia’s are also outfitted with a series of steel bracelets and brown calfskin and NATO straps. The 42mm diameter case made from brushed and polished steel assures a modern sport-watch fit.
While there is plenty to choose from, all Autavias share the key groundbreaking components that set these watches apart from the pack. Each Autavia is made with a new Isograph oscillator — a hairspring made of a carbon composite which keeps the watch accurately ticking no matter what disturbance. The new Isograph technology was invented, patented and produced in-house by Heuer to keep the Swiss Made Chronometer as precise as possible. They are also water resistant for up to 100m and have a 38-hour power reserve. This new set of TAG Heuer’s Autavia is for the discerning dad, who will most assuredly put his watch through the paces — and the Autavia can certainly take it.
