Tudor’s Black Bay Chronograph, first launched at Baselworld 2017, utilized a vintage-inspired design and the MT5813 chronograph movement, designed in collaboration with Breitling and based upon the Breitling cal. B01 and reworked by Tudor. Featuring the iconic Tudor snowflake hands, a 41mm stainless steel case, 200m of water resistance and a rivet-style bracelet, the watch was a hit, and has since been released in steel-and-gold versions and on several different strap options.
In celebration of Tudor’s role as the Official Timekeeper of the Rugby World Cup 2019™ and Tudor’s sponsorship of the New Zealand All Blacks, the Swiss watchmaker has announced a new take on the Black Bay Chrono, the Limited Edition Black Bay Chrono Dark. The Chrono Dark is completely blacked-out to match the All Blacks jersey via a PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating over its satin-brushed steel case, and is limited to 1,181 pieces, referencing the number of players who have played for the All Blacks since 1903.
The Black Bay Chrono Dark, reference number 79360DK, features the COSC-certified Manufacture Caliber MT5813, 200m of water resistance, a 41mm case, a fixed PVD-treated steel bezel in matte black, an anodized aluminum bezel disc with tachymeter, and matte black PVD-treated screw-down pushers, bracelet and clasp. Hacking seconds add for precision timing, and an instantly-changing date with rapid adjustment makes date changes a cinch.
All referees in the Rugby World Cup will be wearing steel Tudor Black Bay Chronos (seen below), which are available in stores worldwide and not limited. Should you miss out on the Limited Edition Black Bay Chrono Dark, the steel versions are still available.
The Limited Edition Black Bay Chrono Dark will be available nationally beginning on Saturday 9/14 for $5,925
