The G-Shock MT-G series offers premium features and materials for G-Shock fans who aren’t ready for the top-of-the-line, luxury MR-G range. The new MTGB1000XBD-1 features metal and carbon construction as well as Casio’s best technology, including Tough Solar, Bluetooth and radio-controlled time synching. Sleek black coating, a lightweight profile, and popping red accents give this MT-G a sleek and aggressive presence — almost as if out of the Transformers‘ universe.
G-Shock’s latest popular material is carbon, and here it’s featured in a new, carbon-layered bezel that the brand says increases shock resistance and strength and cuts down on overall weight. G-Shock watches like this tend to be bulky, though the brand calls the MTGB1000XBD-1’s case “mid size” (precise measurements are not provided) and a full bracelet should contribute to its heft. As always for G-Shock, the full suite of tech is almost overwhelming, and can be explored in depth on the brand’s website.
The Casio G-Shock MTGB1000XBD-1 is available beginning this month, for a price of $1,100.
