Editor’s Note: Watches & Wonders (formerly SIHH) and Baselworld 2020 are canceled but that hasn’t stopped watch brands large and small from debuting their new wares. Stay on top of this year’s best new watch releases here.
The typically minimalist designs of Danish brand Skagen tend to blend formal aesthetics with a casual twist. The company’s latest release, however, takes a decidedly sporty turn. Debuting in two versions, the Skagen Fisk is a dive watch with a summery style and a quartz movement that helps keep it within the brand’s comfort zone of affordability.
How affordable? We’re talking $155 for the 42mm-wide model on a steel bracelet and $135 for the 38mm-wide, all-black version on a mesh bracelet. Skagen is careful to call the Fisk a dive-style watch, as it’s rated to only 100m of water resistance — but that makes it perfectly suitable for swimming.
Skagen offers good choices for the crowd that simply wants an attractive watch for a reasonable price. A sporty option like the Fisk with its restrained design is consistent with the brand’s Scandinavian personality and makes for a great summer watch you won’t have to worry about.
