A Fan-Favorite Integrated Pilot’s Watch Gets a Dazzling, Polished-Up Revamp

One of the primary goals of designing a pilot’s watch is legibility, but for this special edition BR-05, Bell & Ross threw that right out the window in favor of pure eye-catching swagger.

The French brand’s flagship integrated steel sports watch received a mirror-polished revamp to the dial, hands and indices. While it may not be the easiest to read, it’s certainly a joy to look at.

The Bell & Ross BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel features the collection’s standard rounded-off, tiered square case with an iterated H-link bracelet. The four corner screws and sizable crown guard are as expected, but the dial is far more reflective than usual.

It is stripped down to the bare minimum details from the BR-05 dial template. The rounded baton indices are present, but the frames are gone, and the hands are simplified to flat, rounded batons with polished rhodium plating.

Completing the theme, the applied hour markers, hands and affixed Bell & Ross logo are all mirror-polished. The time is visible only through the varying depth of the dial’s components.

The reflective metallic scheme is carried through in the mix of polished and satin-brushed steel on the case and bracelet.

Mirror, mirror on the wrist

The BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel effectively turns Bell & Ross’s sporty modern pilot’s watch into a dressy gaze-stealer. The pared-down and polished-up dial is more jewelry than tool.

That’s no knock on the revamp. The BR-05 was already the French watchmaker’s sleekest collection, and this glimmering update is as elevated as it can get without adding precious metals.

It ventures further down the path forged by the BR-05 36mm earlier in 2025, ditching the date complication and adding matte black, sunburst and mother-of-pearl dials.

Aside from the dial, however, this is still a Bell & Ross. It boasts 100m water resistance, with a screw-down crown protected by a sizable crown guard. The dial is topped with an AR-coated sapphire crystal, providing a pristine view of the dial at any angle.

Along with the integrated steel bracelet, comprised of satin-brushed H-links and polished center links, this special edition BR-05 comes with a black rubber folding-clasp strap.

BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel is powered by the BR-CAL.321-1 automatic movement, which is an augmented version of the movement found in most of the collection, but with the date module removed, as noted by the “-1” at the end.

A circular oscillating rotor is visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, and the movement beats at 4Hz, while providing a modest 54-hour power reserve.

Availability and price

Bell & Ross produces some of the finest tool watches on the planet, but the adventurous brand isn’t afraid to stray away from functionality to create exciting, eye-catching designs. While that often means skeletonization and buckets of lume, BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel takes an entirely different path.

“Dressy” is new territory for the French watchmaker, but so far, so good. This highly reflective special edition BR-05 is available now from Bell & Ross for $6,300. It is a limited edition of 250 pieces, each numbered on the caseback ring.
