Breitling has outdone itself once again.

In 2025, almost exactly a year ago, Breitling introduced the B19 movement to its regular production line, with an extravagant Navitimer featuring a platinum bezel and a brilliant sky-blue dial. What I described at the time as the ultimate iteration of the iconic pilot’s watch has now been supplanted by a full-platinum build.

Breitling’s most impressive in-house movement, the Caliber B19 automatic, is now housed in a platinum case, topped with a platinum bezel frame and controlled by a platinum crown and pushers. It is the height of opulence for the historical tool watch brand.

The shimmering metal exterior contains a dark blue, slightly glossy, lacquered dial. It is designed to resemble the stratosphere, where Earth’s blue sky transitions to the darkness of space.

It continues the theme established by the sky-blue sunburst dial of the 2025 Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Timer and debuts alongside another new reference with an anthracite-gray dial and steel case, modeled after the darkness of near-Earth orbit.

While the full platinum, dark blue reference is decidedly more beautiful, both new additions are fitting homes for the extra complication that doesn’t get mentioned in the title: a moonphase.

The starry, photorealistic moonphase disc blends beautifully into the inky blue dial.

Although the moonphase is the most arresting detail within the information-packed confines of the 43mm platinum case, it is only scratching the surface of how the Caliber B19 measures time.

All of the time

Perhaps the most impressive attribute of Breitling’s Navitimer B19 collection is how neat and balanced the dial appears, despite providing so much analog information.

Introduced as a special edition in 2024, it is the independent Swiss watchmaker’s first fully in-house perpetual calendar chronograph.

The subdials at 3:00 and 9:00 contain both calendar and chronograph tracks.
Breitling

All three subdials, aside from the moonphase, pull double duty. Starting at 3:00, there is a 31-day outer track managed by the perpetual calendar, so it is always accurate when set, and a 30-minute chronograph totalizer on the inner track.

At 9:00, the arrangement is the same, with the days on the outer rim and a 60-minute totalizer inside. For both subdials, the chronograph functions use silver hands that match the silver central chronograph seconds hand, while the calendar functions have white hands.

At 6:00, the outer rim of the subdial indicates the month, and the inner track accounts for leap years, so you know if it is set properly. The whole show is topped with a cambered sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Framing all of the mechanical displays on the dial is the Navitimer’s signature slide-rule bezel with a black outer track and a white inner track.

Another impressive feature of the Caliber B19 is one you can’t on the dial or through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. Despite all of the mechanical complications drawing energy from the mainspring, it offers an impressive 96-hour power reserve.

The movement is modestly decorated but features a solid gold rotor. Each watch in this 75-piece limited edition release is numbered on the platinum caseback ring.

It comes on a blue alligator leather strap with white stitching and a white gold deployment clasp.

Availability and pricing

Breitling’s new flagship Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar is available now from Breitling for $52,000, a $12,000 jump from last year’s steel and platinum reference.

That’s enough money to buy a nice used car, but it is still a good bargain compared to Vacheron Constantin and Patek Phillipe references with similar specs that run well over six figures.
