G-Shock’s Most Elevated Watch Proves It Can Still Look Tough and Tactical

Forget its luxurious nickname. This “CasiOak” looks as rugged as the rest of ’em.

Fancy probably isn’t the first word that comes to mind when it comes to G-Shock. But the watches that make up the brand’s 2100 series might be the exception.

Commonly called the “CasiOak” for its visual likeness to the iconic (and high-end) Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the 2100 stands as one of G-Shock’s most refined designs to date. Some variants even retail for thousands of dollars.

That said, a pair of new colorways prove the luxe-looking design can still look tough and rugged when it wants to.

Clad in camo cloaks, the G-Shock GA2100CM-8A and GA2100CM-5A are the latest 2100 models to join the fan-favorite family of analog-digital timepieces.

Both watches feature a vintage-inspired pattern that covers both the band and bezel:

The GA2100CM-8A comes in an earthy combination of black, gray and reddish brown, while the GA2100CM-5A features a desert-going getup with a light-tan base.

For what it’s worth, the references belong to the bottom end of the 2100 family, meaning they lack some of the rarified details found on other CasiOak models upmarket.

However, they remain affordable entry points into the series. And, of course, they share the angular case and analog-first display that together make every 2100 series model unique within the broader G-Shock ecosystem.
