Like many iconic timepieces, the G-Shock 2100 Series watch goes instead by a clever nickname.
The so-called “CasiOak” is widely considered the brand’s most refined design to date, thanks in no small part to its striking similarity to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
There’s the octagonal case. An integrated bracelet. Now it even has a textured dark-blue dial, akin to the most representative Royal Oak variants.

The MRG-B2100D-2A is the latest entry into Casio’s high-end Mr-G lineup, and the closest thing collectors may ever get to its iconic namesake.
Naturally, Casio is coy about the two models’ connection.
According to the brand, the inspiration for this specific reference was an ancient pagoda in the Yamagata Prefecture (the region where Mr-G models are made).
