Since its release in the 1980s, G-Shock’s original square watch has become a canvas for countless colorways and collaborations.
But few possess the provenance of the next rendition in the queue.
To kick off 2026, G-Shock will team up with the legendary Japanese bagmaker Porter for a minimalist redux of the DW-5600.
At first glance, the design shares a striking resemblance to G-Shock’s recent collaboration with Bamford, albeit without the oversized text on the band.
A closer inspection also reveals a slightly different tint for the accent color, which takes on a more turquoise tone to match one of Porter’s signature hues.
Less subtle, the bagmaker’s logo appears with the backlight engaged, and its smiley-face motif can be found on both the caseback and collectible box.
The G-Shock x Potr DW-5600 is exclusive to Japan, with limited availability across Porter’s network of domestic brick-and-mortar shops.
For overseas collectors, the watch will also be sold online on Saturday, January 10, for a price of 25,300 Japanese yen (about $161).
