The unique kicks became a pop culture sensation when Boston Celtics guard Dee Brown pumped his Pumps on court before his winning dunks at the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, forever linking the shoes to both performance and, well, vibes.
Still, nothing lasts forever, and by the mid-’90s, Reebok Pumps had been dismissed as a fad and largely faded away.
