Timex Streamlines Its Crowd-Pleasing, Affordable Weekender Watch

One of the brand’s most enduring models gets a refined update to its styling across both the time-only and chronograph editions.

One of the best things about Timex is its catalogs relative affordability. For generations, this brand has made timeless, stylish, dependable wristwatches accessible even to those on an extremely tight budget.

Since its introduction in 2011, the Timex Weekender has been a quintessential example of that particular blend of factors. And now, it gets a pair of new editions in the Timex Weekender New England series, including a classic time-only option and a chronograph.

Working for the Weekender

This new series consists of a pair of watches. The first of them is a classic time-only offering called simply the Timex Weekender New England.

This is actually a rerelease of an existing watch, boasting some fairly significant tweaks. Yet it retains its original spirit.

The biggest alteration is to its case size. The new version measures just 34 millimeters in diameter, whereas the original was 39 millimeters. That makes this one positively petite, by comparison. It’s also more wearable and a touch more refined.

The styling has also been updated. It still maintains its clean, minimalist stainless steel case (in either silver or gold), but the dial numerals and markings are both bolder and more classic. Furthermore, the 24-hour markings on the inner dial have been deleted, leaving just the classic 12-hour numerals.

The hands, however, remain largely unchanged and retain their lume.

Both versions also come with a classic leather strap with hardware that matches the case.

Look at this chronograph

The Weekender New England Chronograph was last updated toward the tail-end of 2025. And for the most part, the two new options are faithful to that redux.

Like the time-only version above, it sports a classic quartz movement that helps keep it affordable and reliable. It also maintains its clean stainless steel case and even the dial styling.

Even the new elapsed time function and the positioning of the subdials remains true.

The difference, however subtle, lies in its colorways and strap options. The first change is that one of the two colorways inverts the dial from a cream with black markings to a black with cream markings. The hands also get swapped for stainless steel in this edition.

The other is the straps. Unlike the 2025 predecessors, these two new options swap their fabric straps for supple, side-stitched leather options that help elevate and refine this chronograph significantly.

And yet, neither of these new Weekender New England watches come close to eclipsing a $200 price point, making both extremely affordable.
