Unimatic Launches Its Best Affordable Dive Watch Yet

An endless stream of collaborations and an increasingly hyped status make it easy to lose sight of the fact that Unimatic is, first and foremost, a serious tool watch brand founded by former industrial designers.

The Italian indie watchmaker reasserted that point in 2025 with the debut of the ProDiver collection. Aquatic aptitude is a through line connecting almost every watch the brand releases, but this collection reemphasized its commitment to diving.

All three watches in the initial ProDiver release were limited to 300 pieces and sold out promptly. Fortunately, Unimatic took less than six months to update the design and release two new references with significant improvements.

The case and dial of the new Modello Uno ProDiver Limited Edition look nearly identical to the initial version, sticking closely to the brand’s signature pragmatic, industrial design language.

Along with the return of a black dial and matching black ceramic bezel insert found on two of the initial three releases, there is a new royal blue version.

Both dials have matte backgrounds with the quintessential triangle-dot-dash printed hour markers, save for a date window replacing the 6:00 marker, exposing a color-matched date disc.

They each feature Unimatic’s “phantom” hands, which match the frame color to the dial, creating the illusion that the white segments are floating — an effect magnified in the dark.

The new references use the same combination of blue-glowing Super-Luminova for the minute hand and five-minute segments on the bezel track, and orange for the hour hand, seconds hand and hour markers.

The new ProDiver has a 40mm steel case, totaling 41.5mm with the overhanging steel bezel frame, like the more affordable version from the debut collection.

However, it offers the same 600m water resistance as the pricier titanium entry — twice that of the original steel model and most other Unimatic divers.

Full metal bracelet

For me, the second helping of the ProDiver blows away the first because it comes on a steel Oyster-style three-link bracelet, which is finished with the same vertical satin brushing as the case and bezel frame.

The bracelet features a diver extension built into the folding clasp, providing an extra 15.6mm. It also functions as a tool-less micro-adjustment, fixable at 2.5mm increments.

The clasp is signed with the same bullseye logo found on the crown.

Better still, Unimatic provides an additional rubber pin buckle strap with the new ProDiver release. Each strap matches the dial color of its respective watch.

Just like the titanium ProDiver reference U1S-T-PD6, which Unimatic labeled its new flagship diver, the two new additions to the collection are powered by a Sellita Caliber SW200-1 automatic movement. It beats at 4Hz and provides a 41-hour power reserve.

Availability and price

The U1S-T-PD6 didn’t last long as Unimatics’ flagship diver, as the two new ProDivers, specifically the blue reference U1S-PD6-RB and the black reference U1S-PD6-B, now share that title.

Unfortunately, just as with the debut release, each new ProDiver is limited to 300 pieces, so they won’t be available for long.

The Modello Uno ProDiver Limited Edition is available now from Unimatic for $1,960. For the record, that’s only $60 more than the titanium version from 2025, which only came with a nylon NATO strap.
