If you’re shopping for an automatic dive watch with a $1,500 budget, you’re faced with an overwhelming number of options. But if 2000m (with three zeros) water resistance is a must-have, that shrinks the field quite a bit.
Given those criteria, Certina just dropped your best option with the most aquatically adept DS Diver ever released. It doubles the maximum depth of its predecessor and does so in funky vintage style.

Certina, now a member of the Swatch Group family, has been a leader in dive watch innovation since 1959, when it debuted the Double Security Concept case with the first DS Diver. The collection was revived in 2018 with the DS PH200m, an IYKYK icon of the dive watch community.
Certina didn’t rest on its laurels with one of the best bang-for-your-buck divers on the market. It continued to push the limit of water resistance with DS Super PH500m in 2020, followed by the DS Super PH1000m three years later.

The DS Super PH2000M has a 43mm-wide by 16mm-tall case.
Now, Certina plunges the DS Super collection down to 2000m, which is far deeper than humans can go without extensive training and a ton of equipment. But that doesn’t detract from the cool factor.
While it is on the larger side, the 43 mm-wide by 16 mm-tall case is still very wearable. It also retains the collection’s funky 1970s design language and debuts with four bold color schemes.
