New Balance has no shortage of popular and everyday-friendly silhouettes, but its latest release may be its most summer-ready yet thanks to a lightweight rework.
The U9060Sv1 is a fresh take on New Balance’s iconic 9060, a shoe known for its stylish combination of familiar stylistic elements from the 99X series models and futuristic, tech-inspired Y2K-era aesthetics.

This rework sees the signature sneaker turned into a hybrid mule, swapping out the traditional heel for an adjustable strap and adding in breathable mesh panels to the upper.
The warm-weather ready silhouette is available in three refreshed colorways: Black with Afterglow and Black Metallic, Sea Salt with Black and Linen and Raincloud with Castlerock and White.
As GP editor Sean Tirman reported in April, the U9060Sv1 was initially revealed as a Japan-exclusive release this spring. Just in time for this week’s heat wave, the funky-fresh silhouette landed on the brand’s U.S. website this morning, retailing for $150.
Considering the Japan-exclusive drop sold out within days, it’s worth getting in on this before the same happens with this release.
