Nike ACG Already Teased Its Next Big Trail Shoe

The company kicked up a lot of dirt with its relaunch of ACG earlier this year, not all of it settled. But Nike is already teasing its next notable launch.

The dust has yet to fully settle from Nike’s relaunch of ACG, led by the release of the Ultrafly, Radical Airflow and Zegama Hike. But the world already knows its next big launch.

The brand recently took to social media to tease a brand-new ACG shoe called the ACG Kigerfly, the prototype of which has already put up impressive times on the trail-racing circuit.

While specifics remain sparse for now, the images do reveal a few key details about the upcoming silhouette.

The Kigerfly shows a sleek, low-profile build that leans more toward trail-influenced running than ACG’s chunkier hiking-boot lineage.

The outsole has an aggressive lug pattern, but there’s no mention of Vibram. The Ultrafly had Vibram Litebase.

For starters, the upper appears to wrap the foot with a seamless, sock-like structure, and the outsole carries the aggressive lugging Nike ACG typically favors for off-pavement use. The photos also clearly reveal the use of ZoomX foam throughout the midsole.

A quote from Jennifer Lichter accompanies the teaser, stating, “Kigerfly feels like a part of my foot, not a seperate limb. And so I’m able to confidently move through that terrain.”

Beyond that, mum’s the word on specs, materials or even a launch date, so any claims about performance are the brand’s to make.

However, rest assured that the Kigerfly is designed to move far … and fast. In June, Lichter won the prestigious Western States 100.2-mile race in California using the shoe, setting a new course record of 15 hours, 28 minutes and 5 seconds.
