Nike’s ACG Zegama Hike already headlines the relaunch of the company’s cult-favorite outdoor division, All Conditions Gear. But the capable boot is only now beginning to show its true colors.

The ACG Zegama Hike “Anthracite” drops the earthy, trail-coded palette of earlier releases in favor of a blacked-out finish that wouldn’t look out of place in a special-ops field kit.

On the technical side, little has changed under the hood.

Nike built the Zegama Hike around a breathable upper, Vibram Megagrip outsole and a dual-compound midsole made with ZoomX foam, grounding the boot in technology that established Nike’s reputation on the roads.

As Gear Patrol covered at launch, the boot utilizes a high-cut, supportive chassis with a focus on stability over technical scrambling speed.

Nike describes the platform as designed for long, load-bearing days on the mountain, overlapping neatly with what a tactical or uniformed user would actually demand from their gear. Strip away any bright color blocking and what you have left is a silhouette that looks purpose-built for that world.

The ACG Zegama Hike “Anthracite” delivers exactly that: black upper, black midsole, black outsole and no accent panels.

What little contrast there is arrives via the Vibram marker on the sole.

Here, however, that detail reads strictly utilitarian, underscoring the boot’s ability to transition from mountain trails to urban pavement, without advertising the fact.
