Marathon builds never quite go exactly according to plan. But one thing is certain. Whether you’re training for your first 26.2, consider yourself a seasoned sub-elite or simply dream of one day crossing the Staten Island bridge by foot, the miles won’t run themselves.

Now Nike won’t make it any easier, as much as the brand will try to convince you otherwise. But it can make it somewhat cheaper to lace up in shoes designed to go the distance.

That’s because Nike’s vast back-to-school sale is chock-full of deep discounts on nearly every running shoe it makes.

Notably, the styles extend beyond the end-of-cycle styles that typically make up deal fare. Included are the newest generation of the reliable Pegasus, the fan-favorite Vomero Plus and even the ACG Ultrafly, Nike’s pinnacle race shoe leading the All Conditions Gear relaunch.

The Vaporfly 4 is Nike’s sharpest iteration of its marquee carbon-plated racer. It sheds roughly 10 grams over its predecessor by trimming the midsole, outsole and upper. A full-length carbon fiber Flyplate sits at a steeper angle than in the Vaporfly 3, pairing with a lighter ZoomX foam midsole and a 6mm heel-to-toe drop for a snappier, more aggressive ride.
