Released in 2024, the Air Max Dn was already one of the most fully-loaded lifestyle sneakers across Nike’s repertoire.

It debuted a dual-chamber Air unit, each with its own psi pressure levels, to deliver smooth, dynamic cushioning with every step.

But with an all-weather upgrade ahead of fall and winter, the Air Max Dn may take the cake as the most technical everyday sneaker Nike now makes without an ACG designation.

The shoes feature a sleek, streamlined design with a smooth upper and no visible laces, instead using a black elastic cord with lime green toggles for adjustment. The midsole is beige with a unique design element on the side incorporating mint green circular cushioning units. The outsole is black with textured grip. The overall look is futuristic and sporty.

Thick skin

Like the original, the Air Max Dn Roam features one of Nike’s most advanced cushioning systems, culminating more than three decades of research and development that began with the Tailwind (the first shoe to feature Air technology).

However, the upper here has been replaced with a two-layer unit that includes an internal sock-like sleeve, covered with a zip-up shroud for mud, rain and sleet.

The toebox also features a rubber overlay for additional durability and impact protection, should you want to the take the name of the shoe at face value and venture off-road with it.

That adventurous spirit is also underscored by the Storm-Tread outsole. While it lacks the the hardwearing lugs and grip of a traditional hiker, it does give the Air Max Dn Roam extra traction for slippery sidewalks and light trails.

Finally, toggle laces give it a technical flourish, with the added benefits of an easy on and quick adjustability.
