Most watches are purpose-built to serve a specific need or have a desired look. Some are more zeroed in, like an elegant perpetual calendar or a high-performance dive watch, while others serve a broader purpose.
AVI-8 once again teamed up with Worn & Wound to create an all-purpose tool watch that is tough and highly legible, while stylish and comfortable enough for daily wear. It’s more of a hammer than a ratchet set.

The CVRT 3775A — pronounced “Covert” — borrows features from more specific tool watches, like a hard-coated steel case, highly legible indices and 100m of water resistance. At the same time, it is certainly not a field, dive or pilot’s watch.
Creating a jack-of-all-trades was the goal for both collaborators. The rugged build and versatile color scheme, dubbed Night Shadow, is meant for non-delicate daily wear and travel of the adventurous variety.

The time-and-date dial is simple and highly legible, and the 38mm steel case has an alluring blend of finishes. A large fixed bezel features a brushed, flat top with polished, chamfered edges and a knurled side that matches the grip on the push-pull crown.
