Citizen is synonymous with affordability, but offering 30 percent off on most of the brand’s inventory makes for some ridiculously low-priced watches.
This Cyber Monday sale features some of the Japanese watchmaker’s most respected designs in the sub-$1,000 price range. Unfortunately, that means no Series 8 or The Citizen references, but there are plenty of excellent options from the Promaster, Zenshin and Tsuyosa collections.

Citizen exemplifies the fact that affordability does not equate to poor quality in watchmaking. Most of the savings come through a vertically integrated system, where everything, from movements to cases, is made in-house.
Economy of scale also helps. Citizen produces and sells more watches than most other brands on the planet, which means that it can profit from charging less than competitors for equivalent watches. For example, most watch brands would likely have to charge between $750 and $1,000 to replicate the Tsuyosa.

Citizen is also a leading brand in titanium case design, having invented the first one back in 1970. Its proprietary, scratch-resistant Super Titanium is used in a range of watches priced well under $1,000.
