A Respected Hi-Fi Brand Just Launched a Stunning Pair of Audiophile Speakers

Nocs is a Swedish hi-fi company that specializes in high-end speakers with beautiful, minimalist designs. It’s probably best known for its Monolith ($3,000), a cubic wireless speaker that proudly shows off its two large woofers and three full-range drivers.

Now it’s bringing the same design ethos to a new active stereo system.

A dual-cube speaker system

The Braque is a stereo pair of cubic speakers made of plywood resting on steel cubic bases. According to the brand, the two volumes “form a stable and symmetrical structure at ideal listening height, with a clear and focused stereo field.”

This dual-cube design elevates the speaker drivers to an ideal listening height. It’s a little difficult to tell from the photos, but each speaker-and-base is 29.5 inches (or roughly 2.5 feet) tall and weighs almost 90 pounds.

It’s an active system, meaning each speaker is powered and individually amplified. Each speaker houses dual Celestion FTX0820 coaxial drivers that are powered by dual Hypex FA122 amplifiers with integrated DSP.

“Braque is about space – physical and sonic,” explained Nocs founder Daniel Alm. “By working with a larger enclosure and a coaxial driver, we were able to shape a sound that’s natural, open, and honest. It reveals what’s in the recording without adding anything of its own, which is the core of our Studio Sound approach.”

Unlike many of today’s active speaker systems, Braque isn’t wireless — there’s no built-in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi for streaming.

However, the system supports a wide range of inputs (stereo RCA, balanced XLR, optical Toslink and coaxial digital) that allow it to be compatible with both classic and modern setups.

Price and availability

Nocs claims that the Braque speaker system is produced in numbered editions and limited runs (although it has disclosed exactly how many it’s going to make).

The system costs $6,000 and will go on sale in January 2026.
