Timex is kicking off the new year like many of us, by cleaning out its closet, metaphorically speaking.

The titan of affordable watches is running an “Everything Must Go”-style sale on some of its more obscure releases from the past year or so. This includes unique colors of popular models — like a British Racing Green chronograph — and some unusual concepts — like a digital integrated sports watch.

Most of the watches included in this sale are 30 percent off, but a couple are half off, including a blacked-out version of one of Timex’s most underrated designs. No code is required to apply the discount, and all prices are as marked on the product page.

While not every watch in this promotion is a hit, there are definitely some hidden gems that are well worth the steeply discounted price, and they are all under $250.

Here are eight of the best options from Timex’s clear-out sale.

A British racer

Timex’s Waterbury Chronograph is the brand’s most straightforward homage to 1960s racing watches — e.g., the Carrera and the Daytona.

This British Racing Green reference doubles down on the automotive heritage with a sunburst brushed dial accented by a yellow-tipped chronograph seconds hand. It comes on a nylon NATO strap with a matching green and yellow color scheme.

A couple of things to note before buying this watch are that it does not have a running seconds, and the pushers are not screw-down; they just emulate that look.

The Timex Ironman is the grandaddy of all modern digital training watches, and the Classic 30-Lap is one of the most comfortable and functional variations. It offers all of the standard timing features, most notably the 30-lap split memory and an Indiglo backlit dial.

But the rubber pass-through lugs make it exceptionally comfortable and allow the watch to be secured to items other than a strap, like a backpack, belt or even sneakers.

Timex Milano XL

The Milano XL is one of Timex’s most underrated designs. It is a scaled-up version of a long-running women’s watch with an elegantly simple look. The elliptical case with angular lugs is inspired by a number of Swiss and Japanese watches from the 1960s, and the dial is clearly pulled from the Datejust.

This all-black version is accented with rose gold-toned hands and hour markers. It has a radial sunburst brushed dial with a tiny, unframed date window at 3:00.

Q Timex Q80 Continental

The Q80 blurs the line between two Timex collections, placing a digital screen in a case from the Q Timex collection. It has an integrated H-link steel bracelet with angular lugs and a prominent bezel, all inspired by luxury sports watches from the 1970s.

It has the full range of standard digital features, including the time, the day, the date, an alarm, a timer and an Indiglo backlight.

Mad Men-approved

The entire Marlin collection is inspired by watches from the 1960s, but this 40mm automatic model is exceptionally faithful to the era with the applied block numeral hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12.

It has a clean dial with no date, a beige radial sunburst texture and slim sword hour and minute hands. Completing the look is a five-link Jubilee-style bracelet, which became popular during that pivotal decade.

A throwback to the funky racing watches of the 1970s, this chronograph features a 42mm brushed barrel-shaped case, offering a ton of fun and a bold wrist presence at a remarkable bargain.

The Q Timex LGA is a revival from the 1980s that has been around for years, but the transparent resin case and strap — available in black and blue — from this update put it more in line with the late 1990s and early 2000s.

This Timex classic is instantly recognizable for its rectangular 35mm case and the digital representation of an analog clock face on the dial. It is also equipped with a date, alarm, timer, multi-lap stopwatch and a backlight.

Timex’s Reclaim collection is produced in collaboration with #tide, an organization that collects and repurposes discarded plastic from coastal areas. The case and NATO strap are made from upcycled plastic.

The design is based on Timex’s Expedition field watch collection, featuring a military time dial, dash-and-triangle minutes track and an arrow-shaped seconds hand. Rather than lume, the dial is lit with the brand’s signature Indiglo backlight.
