Despite being one of the most iconic American sneaker brands in existence, P.F. Flyers’ trajectory has been anything but linear.

While starts and stops spell a death sentence for many brands, for P.F. Flyers, it’s led to an ethos of reinvention.

Flying high

The Grounder High-Top Hiker blends P.F. Flyers’ distinctive visual language with military-inspired, hardworking material swaps that result in a capable-yet-cool sneaker that can handle everyday travel as well as the great outdoors.

The new shoe swaps out the brand’s traditional canvas upper for a one-two punch of nylon and suede, which lend both lightweight strength and heavy-hitting style to the silhouette.

The military-green upper, paired with the black overlays, toe cap and laces, give the shoe a grounded look (and perhaps influenced its name?), while the reinforced stitching, lugged rubber outsole and padded leather collar infuse durability from top to bottom.

In addition to the colorway on this page, the Grounder also comes in a high-top burgundy variant. There are two low-top versions as well, available in the same two color schemes.
