Five years ago, in 2021, Vacheron Constantin launched an unexpected, extremely limited and achingly cool version of its Overseas integrated sports watch.
Available as either an Overseas Chronograph or Dual Time model and dubbed the “Everest,” the watches were based on a 2019 prototype worn by photographer and mountaineer Cory Richards on a Mount Everest expedition.
Watches and Wonders Geneva: Rolex, Grand Seiko and dozens of other heavy hitters gather in Switzerland every year to release their biggest watches. Catch up on all the new novelties.
The “Everest” made several sporty updates to the standard Overseas. Its case was made of lightweight titanium rather than steel. Its gray dial featured a grained texture and orange accents. And it was paired with gray rubber and orange-stitched fabric straps.
Both versions were limited to just 150 pieces, making them incredibly rare, and the Dual Time version especially has gone on to become a grail for many thanks to its achingly cool aesthetic, sporting functionality and adventurous backstory.
Now, at Watches and Wonders, Vacheron has launched a sequel of sorts to the Everest with the new, non-limited Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points. And it’s even better than the original.
