A Pitch-Perfect Multi-Deploying EDC Knife Is Black and Better Than Ever

The beloved long-dead flipper rises from the ashes, with the hue to match and premium blade steel to boot.

As devout fans know, GiantMouse routinely names its knives after favorite food, drink and hotel haunts of Danish founders Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes.

So it is with the iconic Ace Biblio, which draws its name from a beloved, literary-leaning Brooklyn bar.

Coming on the heels of the black and brass Ace Tribeca, the new Ace Biblio is arguably even more darkly dazzling.

Alas, Ansø has since left GM to focus on his own thing, the bar has closed its doors (with a rather bonkers redirect) and the knife has not been updated in some time.

Thankfully, that statement is now two truths and a lie, as the Ace Biblio returns in a beautifully blacked-out new edition.

Biblio tech

GiantMouse knives almost universally pair sleek, functional design with top-notch materials, and the brand’s sweet new Ace Biblio FL Blackout is no exception.

The frame lock requires greater machining than the liner lock, hence its place as a hallmark of higher-end knives.

The fun starts with a 2.82-inch drop-point blade made of M390 super steel, which is generally prized for its blend of wear resistance, corrosion resistance and edge retention.

Mid-spine jimping boosts control during detail-driven, precise cuts, while a bit of extra protection arrives in the most badass way possible: a black PVD stonewash finish.

Like a fair number of GM’s, the blackened steel is multi-deploying, courtesy of a thumb hole and a rear flipper, with the blade held in place by that sturdy staple of upscale knives, the frame lock.

Opposite the business end, a matching blacked-out titanium handle is ergonomically shaped, with dual choils (one on the blade and one on the handle) ensuring a steady four-fingered grip.

Rounding things out is a reversible steel wire clip with an equally ashen hue, letting you carry this five-ounce phoenix wherever you like.

Availability and pricing
