GiantMouse’s Ace Tribeca has such a stunning silhouette that the brand can hardly go wrong when revisiting it.

The evidence is hard to miss, as both the Titanium and Denim treatments of the fan-favorite EDC knife are delightful.

The silhouette of the Ace Tribeca is so compelling to begin with, getting a chance to update it must feel like the knife industry equivalent of being born on third base and believing you hit a triple.

Yet somehow, with its latest edition, the brand has managed to leap over the bar set by those two beauties.

Because the new Black & Brass variant is the rare “10/10, no notes” kind of knife that’s damn near irresistible.

Back in black

Before we even dive into the latest release, it’s worth noting that the Tribeca has as legit a pedigree as perhaps any knife in GiantMouse’s exemplary lineup.

As if MagnaCut super steel weren’t robust enough, a black PVD finish makes it even … robust-er?

Named for the Lower Manhattan neighborhood, inspired by the bold, beautiful GM4 and designed by the legendary duo of Jesper Voxnaes and Jens Ansø, the Ace Tribeca smoothly blends rugged good looks and purpose-built functionality.

In its latest incarnation, the 2.9-inch drop-point blade is made of MagnaCut super steel coated in a black PVD finish.

The trademark thumbhole plus a sneaky rear flipper tab give the Tribeca two handy deployment methods.

That makes a material already prized for its blend of toughness, corrosion resistance and edge retention even more badass-looking and durable.

Deployment comes via the classic GiantMouse thumb hole or a subtle rear flipper tab, multi-deploying magic made smoother by a ball-bearing pivot mechanism and secured firmly, thanks to a liner lock.

The brass back spacer and pivot collar complement the knife’s otherwise blacked-out color scheme perfectly.

Equally notable is the ergonomic handle, rendered here in what GiantMouse calls “double black canvas micarta,” set off by a brass back spacer and pivot collar that look so good it hurts.

The back spacer cleverly extends past the handle scales, revealing a handy lanyard slot for additional carry options.

Just as the deployment actions are ambidextrous, so too are the carry options, thanks to the reversible clip.

Meticulously crafted in the Italian knifemaking capital of Maniago, the 3.7-ounce work of art also features a reversible black steel wire clip.

Which is a good thing, because blades this beautiful should not be left to bounce around in your pocket, Ace.
