G-Shock has teamed up with Toyota plenty of times before but never like this.

The two Japanese firms began their collaborative history with a series of promotional timepieces in the ‘00s but have leveled up their partnership in recent years. It all changed with the Team Land Cruiser lineup, an annual series of co-branded Mudman and Mudmaster models, among G-Shock’s toughest.

However, the Casio sub-brand has now turned to Toyota’s Gazoo Racing performance division for its first timepiece with “GR” branding. And instead of tapping one of its rugged wristwatches for the task, it has tapped a stylish streetwear staple.

Sporting a stealthy black case, dial and band, the resin wristwatch doesn’t look too dissimilar to a regular GA2100 but there are some notable differences. For starters, the G-Shock branding on the dial is replaced with a silver “GR” logo. Also, the red arrow on the day indicator is much wider than usual.
