It’s been a long time coming, but nearly a decade after its introduction, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono is getting a smaller, streamlined case.
Following in the footsteps of its older brother, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight diver, Tudor’s bicompax chronograph is now available in a 39mm case. On top of that, it cuts a slimmer profile and makes one hell of an entrance with the new “Bumblebee” color scheme.

Two millimeters doesn’t sound like much, but it slides the Black Bay Chrono into the “Goldilocks” zone that watch enthusiasts are constantly searching for. As thoroughly proven by the Fifty-Eight, the new case size is infinitely wearable and looks good on any size wrist.
The relatively tidy dial, which doesn’t deviate much from its dive watch progeny, scales down well. In fact, you would have to see it right next to the existing 41mm design to notice the slightly tightened-up spacing.

You still have Tudor’s signature snowflake handset with a red-tipped arrow chronograph seconds hand. The dashes in the classic triangle-dot-dash hour markers are removed to make room for the sunken subdials and a chamfered 6:00 date window.
The dial is still capped with a domed sapphire crystal and framed by a fixed polished steel bezel with a black anodized aluminum insert.
