Audiovector is a Danish loudspeaker specialist with a history dating back to the late 1970s. The company was founded on the premise of making the “perfect loudspeaker for the global high-end market.” So naturally, its offerings are quite expensive.

For context, the company’s flagship floorstanding speakers, R10 Arreté, introduced in 2025, are priced at roughly $165,000 per pair.

Now, Audiovector has introduced a new high-end pair of loudspeakers in the R5 Arreté, which borrows trickle-down technologies from the company’s flagship models and packages them in a (slightly) more attainable loudspeaker.

According to Audiovector, the R5 Arreté loudspeakers hit “the sweet spot for sonic performance and refined design.”

Flagship-grade drivers

Audiovector’s R5 Arreté is a pair of floorstanding loudspeakers that, according to the brand, are the first models in the R Series to carry technologies inherited directly from its flagship R10 Arreté loudspeakers, which cost in the same region as a luxury sports car.

Each loudspeaker has a 3.5-way design featuring four drivers. There are two 6.5-inch bass drivers: one covers the “full bass range,” while the other covers “the deepest frequencies.” There’s also a 6.5-inch midrange driver.

Lastly, each R5 Arreté loudspeaker packs the latest evolution of the brand’s Air Motion Transformer tweeter, which Audiovector claims “delivers exceptional acceleration and micro-dynamic precision from 2,800Hz to 53kHz, [which is] far beyond the threshold of human hearing, but not of human feeling.”

It’s worth noting that all these drivers (tweeter, midrange and bass) are also featured in Audiovector’s flagship R10 Arreté loudspeakers. The difference is that the flagship models have even more of them, including an extra tweeter along with eight long-throw bass drivers.

So you’re getting a loudspeaker with many of the same technologies, but in a smaller and more affordable package.

Danish craftmanship

The cabinet of each R5 Arreté is designed, engineered and hand-built in Denmark. Each features a narrow front baffle designed to minimize edge diffraction for a more precise and transparent soundstage.

At the bottom, the loudspeakers feature a proprietary plinth, precision-milled spikes and an integrated decoupling system, all of which are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance at its source.

Additionally, the loudspeakers have a unique three-position damping adjustment system that, according to the brand, “allows the R 5 Arreté to be matched precisely to any type of amplifier.”
