Goldmund is a luxury Swiss audio manufacturer that makes its loudspeakers and hi-fi components that fall under the adage: “If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.”

For example, earlier this year, the brand launched two passive loudspeakers, the Rhea Passive and Theia Passive, each of which cost six figures. The brand’s flagship Gaia loudspeakers? Those cost half a milly.

While not as extreme, Goldmund has revealed this week a new stereo integrated amplifier, the Telos 670, that is reserved for serious hi-fi systems.

It has two large silver knobs on either side of the display and a gold nameplate above the display. The sides feature vertical cooling fins, and the unit stands on four black feet. The background is a gradient brown.

Old-school hi-fi

The Telos 670 is a stereo integrated amplifier in the traditional sense. It combines a power amplifier and a preamplifier into a single box. There are no built-in streaming capabilities.

According to the brand, it is designed for “discerning listeners who seek fewer audio components without sacrificing sound fidelity.”

Naturally, the Telos 670 is a behemoth of a stereo integrated amplifier, capable of delivering 215 watts per channel into 8 ohms.

Goldmund claims that it has been engineered to drive a pair of high-end loudspeakers “with effortless authority.”

The panel has a brushed metal finish and is labeled with white text.
On the back, the Telos 670 features five analog RCA inputs and a USB Type B port.

40 years of hi-fi expertise

The secret sauce of the Telos 670 is that it features Goldmund’s proprietary Telos amplification technology, which is a Class A/B circuit architecture that draws on over 40 years of research and development.

According to the brand, it’s able to “achieve ultimate linearity, wide bandwidth, and ultra-low distortion.”

The Telos 670 is minimally designed, with a beautiful aluminum chassis that also serves as a natural Faraday cage to shield the internals from electromagnetic interference.

The body is also mass-optimized and, with the help of its conic feet, is designed to eliminate unwanted vibrations and preserve sound clarity across the entire frequency spectrum.

According to Goldmund, the Telos 670 is able to deliver a listening experience “defined by breathtaking realism and emotional resonance.”

Goldmund makes a wide variety of high-end amplifiers and, for those wondering, the Telos 670 is far from the brand’s most elite.

In fact, the Telos 670 is technically the smaller sibling of the brand’s Telos 690, which is larger and more powerful, and demands an even more extreme $36,000 price tag.
