In the last year, KEF has introduced several new speakers.

This includes the Coda W, an entry-level wireless active speaker system with a ’70s-inspired design, as well as refreshed versions of its Blade loudspeakers, which cost $28,000 (or more). And KEF released its first new ultra-portable speaker in over a decade with the second-gen Muo.

Additionally, KEF introduced a truly elite Dolby Atmos soundbar, the XIO, which you can think of as a souped-up version of Sonos’s flagship Arc Ultra. It costs $2,500.

Now, the revered British hi-fi manufacturer has teased another new speaker to be introduced at the end of the month. And while details are sparse, it looks poised to excite audiophiles and high-end hi-fi fans.

KEF’s upcoming “luxury” speaker

The Instagram post teasing KEF’s upcoming loudspeaker.

In a blog post today, as well as Instagram, KEF has revealed that it will be introducing a new speaker on July 30th that will set “a new definition of luxury, one where visual artistry and acoustic mastery are composed as one.”

KEF shared three macro images of the upcoming speaker, which show off a familiar Uni-Q driver similar to those in its flagship LS50 series speaker systems, as well as a unique cabinet design.

“Coming soon”

The company also shared that the upcoming speaker will be a joint collaboration with Ross Lovegrove, a Welsh industrial designer who worked with KEF on a number of its other speakers, including its flagship $225,000 Muon loudspeakers.

That said, KEF claims that the new speaker will have a visual identity unlike any of its other speakers.

“Beneath its striking form lies performance engineered to draw you closer to the music,” reads the company’s blog post. “Expect stunning sound clarity, sharper details and an expanded soundstage, that fully immerses you in the artist’s creative vision.”

Again, all other details about the upcoming speaker are still under wraps and will remain so for the next two weeks. In the meantime, you can check out KEF’s blog post or, for a better video, keep replaying the Instagram post.
