A Respected Hi-Fi Brand Just Made Its Affordable Audiophile Speakers Even Better

Eight years after its original Premier range was introduced, the company is now introduced the Gen-2 upgrades.

Paradigm is a Canadian (Toronto-based) hi-fi manufacturer that has been making high-performance loudspeakers since the early ’80s.

In 2018, the company introduced the Premier Series, an affordable range of loudspeakers for those looking to take “the audiophile step up.” Starting at just $400, the range included six loudspeaker models that could be configured for either stereo or immersive home theater setups.

Now, eight years later, the company has introduced the “v2” version of that Premier Series.

The Premier Series v2 stays true to its predecessor’s ethos, promising high-fidelity sound at an affordable price; the speakers in the series range from $800 to $2,300 per pair.  But Paradigm has given this second-generation lineup a new look and quite the upgrade, as the speakers feature trickle-down technologies from its higher-end models.

According to the brand, the Premier Series v2 features “flagship-inspired technology, the same engineering pedigree found in our most elite speakers, now optimized for your first step into high-performance audio.”

Trickle-down, flagship tech

The primary upgrade with these “v2” models concerns their drivers, as each features trickle-down technologies from Paradigm’s higher-end ranges. This includes AL-MAC high-frequency tweeters and mid-range drivers, as well as Carbon-X unibody bass drivers.

Additionally, these drivers are complemented by the brand’s proprietary drivers feature phase-aligning lens and waveguide technologies, ensuring that the speakers sound good regardless of the room you place them in.

Each speaker features a redesigned MDF cabinet with new internal bracing, along with updated “Outrigger Shock-Mount Isolation” feet to cancel out unwanted vibrations.

The six models in the range

As far as the actual speaker lineup, there are six models to choose from: two bookshelf, two floorstanding, and two center channel speakers for those building out a home theater.

The Premier 120B v2 and the Premier 220B v2 are the two bookshelf speakers. Both share the same two-way design, but the latter features a larger cabinet and larger mid-range driver. Both share the same sized tweeter.

The Premier 720F v2 and Premier 820F v2 are the two floorstanding loudspeakers. Similarly, they share the same three-way, four-driver design. They even have the same exact tweeter and midrange drivers, but the larger Premier 820F stands taller and has larger woofers.

Rounding out the range are the Premier 620C v2 and the Premier 520LCR. Both can serve as center-channel speakers, but the latter can also serve as a left- or right-channel speaker in more immersive home theater systems. And it can be positioned either horizontally or vertically.

All models come in Piano Black, Black Walnut and Walnut finishes. The smallest bookshelf speakers, Premier 120B v2, are also available in satin white.

Availability and pricing

Paradigm’s Premier Series v2 loudspeaker range will be available in June 2026. All the loudspeakers are priced individually, and not as pairs, so they might appear more affordable at first glance.

The two bookshelf speakers, the Premier 120B v2 and the Premier 220B v2, cost $400 and $550, respectively.

The two floorstanding speakers, the Premier 720F v2 and the Premier 820F v2, cost $1,000 and $1,300, respectively.

The home theater speakers, the Premier 620C v2 and the Premier 520LCR, cost $1,300 and $900, respectively.
