In the past year, Quad has introduced a new-age version of its gorgeous stereo amplifier from the 1960s, as well as six-generation versions of its iconic ESL electrostatic loudspeakers.

Now the legendary British audio manufacturer is continuing its hot streak by revealing a new flagship range of hi-fi components called the Platina Series, which includes what the brand is calling its “finest ever” amplifier.

Quad has announced three hi-fi components that will feature in its Platina Series, which includes a network streamer, the Platina Stream, and a CD transport, the Platina CDT. But the star of the show is without a doubt the integrated amplifier: the Platina Integrated.

The Platina Integrated is a integrated amplifier that combines a power amplifier, a phono preamplifier (MM/MC compatibility), a 32-bit DAC and numerous analog and digital connections. It also has a headphone amplifier, for the times when private listening is preferred.

5 years in the making

Quad claims that the Platina Integrated has been five years in the making and “seamlessly blends [Quad’s] heritage with a thoroughly modern digital core.”

As an amplifier, the Platina Integrated is a monster. It has a dual-mono, Class AB design that promises to deliver 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 300 watts into 4 ohms.

According to the brand, it has been engineered to drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with effortless authority and vast headroom and dynamic control.

Like many of today’s integrated amplifiers, the Platina Integrated is quite the versatile hi-fi component — it can function as the hub of your home stereo or home theater.

The Platina Integrated has “a thoroughly modern digital core,” Quad claims, thanks to a state-of-the-art DAC chip and two ultra-precise master clocks for handling timing and sampling rates: either 44.1 kHz (CDs) and 48 kHz (other digital sources).

Vinyl, TV or both?

As previously noted, the Platina Integrated comes with a high-quality phono preamplifier that’s compatibly with a wide range of turntables with either MM or MC cartridges. It has three selectable gains — 46dB, 52dB or 60dB — that you can adjust based on the system’s needs.

It also features HDMI ARC input, meaning you can hook up the Platina Integrated directly to your TV. There are numerous other digital inputs, too, including USB-C, coaxial optical. This allows you to use your prized loudspeakers for vinyl, digital sources and home theater applications.

Unlike a lot of modern integrated amplifiers, the Platina Integrated lacks any Bluetooth or Wi-Fi streaming capabilities — for that, you’ll want to pair it with Quad’s new streamer, the Platina Stream.

As far as looks go, Quad designed the Platina Integrated to strike a balance between both classic and contemporary. It has tactile machined aluminium knobs and buttons, with the focal point being the 4.3-inch full color display for navigating settings.

Price and availability

The Quad Platina Integrated is the first component in the brand’s Platina Series to be available. It goes on sale next month, in November 2025, and will cost $5,495.

As far as the other components in the range, the Platina Stream network player is launching alongside the Platina Integrated. Quad says the Platina CDT will be available sometime in spring 2026.
