Sonos makes hi-fi easy. But there’s always room for crisper highs, more accurate vocals and deeper bass, especially when it comes to building out a respectable home theater.
That’s why some Sonos shoppers don’t stop at small speakers and soundbars, eventually upgrading to the final puzzle piece of the setup: the sub.
Though a Sonos subwoofer can be prohibitively expensive for entry-level shoppers, those that upgrade to the specialist speaker (yes, subwoofers are types of speakers) rarely look back.

Subwoofers shoulder the burden of producing bass, leaving one’s other components to focus on the high- and mid-range frequencies. The result: better overall sound at every level of a rig.
Sonos has dabbled in subwoofers for over a decade, culminating in the release of the Sub 4 in late 2024.
But for listeners looking for a deal, Costco is selling the previous generation at a price that competes with the refurbished version listed on the brand’s own website.
