Reveals, New Launches and Gear
Kuai Fitness Tracker
Amid the abundance of wearable fitness trackers, the new Kuai headset is a great option for those who prefer running sans any extra weight whatsoever, combining the functions of a heart rate strap, footpod, sport watch, mp3 player and automated coach. The earpieces measure heart rate, VO2 max, calories burned, exercise cadence, distance traveled, pace and speed, and they’re waterproof up to 3 meters, with seven hours of battery life and 8GB of memory.
New Balance x Grenson 576GRB
For this limited-edition collaboration, New Balance’s factory in Flimby, England shapes grade A Italian calfskin into this striking silhouette, which is then shipped to Grenson in Northampton for burnishing and broguing details. Only 800 will be sold.
This Is Ground Riff
Your smartphone, headphones, notebook, pen and a card of your choice, all in one place, and in 100 percent cowhide.
John Varvatos Artisan Round Reader
Leather details and laser-engraved patterns make for a modern take on a classic piece of eyewear.
Bell Star Helmet with 360fly
Just announced at CES, BRG’s latest integrates 360fly’s 360-degree action camera to capture every angle of your ride. This also provides protective functions like Collision Avoidance, which audibly alerts riders to fast-approaching objects.
Alba Volero Collection
Alba’s newest collection features jerseys, bibs and socks, all with an emphasis on moisture management and advanced padding.
Suunto Ambit3 Vertical
Made especially for high-altitude athletes, this watch tracks cumulative vertical gain (by day, week and year), remaining ascent distance and activity-based recovery time, with several specialized metrics for runners, skiers, triathletes, cyclists and swimmers.
Lomo’Instant Marakesh
Evocative colorway aside (the shades are inspired by Morocco), the Lomo’Instant Marakesh’s built-in wide-angle lens — compatible with included fisheye, portrait and close-up lens attachments — allows for more than just novelty shots. The camera also allows for long and multiple exposures and has a maximum aperture setting of f/8. Just be sure to stock up on Fuji Instax Mini film.
Adidas Matchcourt Mid Shoes
Built specially for skateboarding, these sneakers feature a double-wrapped vulcanized outsole, promising durability, flexibility and precise board feel.
Hyperchiller
While primarily intended to chill fresh-brewed hot coffee in one minute, the Hyperchiller — a receptacle for coffee whose walls are filled with ice, so that a single pour is exposed to cold but not to water — also works with spirits and wine.
1227 Mini Desk Lamp
The Anglepoise lamp, a favorite among design aficionados, is shrunken down to a max height of 50 centimeters for those with a workspace smaller than a drafting desk. Shipping starts February 16th.
Kronos Ice Climbing Tool
The world’s first ice-climbing tool made from wood is also arguably its most handsome. The wood laminate itself was developed for motorsport, aerospace and nuclear-industrial applications, so you’ve no reason to doubt it.
Trew Kooshin
Trew’s insulating jacket uses the same triple-layer insulation as Patagonia’s Nano-Air, with a stretch-woven ripstop shell for a slimmer silhouette, along with features expected of a winter layer: a high collar, breathable fabric and hand-warming pockets.
The Heritage Flag
Heritage’s wooden American flags are made from whiskey-barrel staves, and each is crafted by hand, leaving no two models alike. Available in various sizes and styles.
Cold Spring Apothecary No. 75 Blend Candle
It may be the placebo effect, but a candle using medicinal herbs — palo santo and white sage, in this case — seems like the perfect thing for cold and flu season. Spring Apothecary’s are made with 100 percent soy wax.
Palladium Pampa Sport Cuff WPN
Whether the snow falls or it remains a wet season, you need a waterproof boot. Oiled full-grain leather and waterproof stitching make this Pampa boot a solid option; and perhaps more importantly for slippery sidewalks, its snug heel cup and die-cut EVA sockliner make it a solid stepper.
Blackburn Wayside Backpack Pannier
A versatile water-resistant backpack is just as much a necessity. This convertible backpack should interest those who alternate between cycling and walking; the waxed-canvas bag can be carried as a backpack or as a pannier.
Cultiver Bedding
This Australian company offers pre-washed linen bedding and covers in a variety of options, including a quilted bedcover lightly filled for warmth.
Under Armour Chugach GTX Jacket and Bib
Announced at the Outdoor Retailer trade show, Under Armour’s new entry into technical outerwear positions them to make splash with hardcore outdoor enthusiasts. The Chugach GTX jacket and bib both feature some unique features designed to make life easier in the backcountry. They were designed with help from pro snowboarder and avid fly fisherman John Jackson. The jacket features vents near the bottom of the ribcage instead of under the pits for easier venting while wearing a pack. The bibs feature a cinch top, much like that of fly-fishing waders, to keep out snow and wind. Available fall 2016.

Search and State S3-B Base Layer
Designed and stitched in the heart of Manhattan’s Garment District, Search and State’s new base layer is the perfect piece for cold winter mornings out on your bike. Search and State recommends that you wear it either underneath a jersey or underneath their S1-J riding jacket. The base layer is made from a merino blend thermal fabric that is designed to keep you warm and wick away sweat. And according to Search and State, the fabric has “other magical abilities.”

Native Fitzroy
The Fitzroy has been a staple in the Native footwear line, but the new Regatta Blue/Bone White colorway takes it to a whole new level.
