Ram’s biggest and most capable trucks (non-commercial) are getting its most badass appearance package. Ram just announced a new Ram Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition for the Ram 2500HD and 3500HD models. Ram says the design “stands out with subtlety,” much the way Darth Vader does in Star Wars.
The Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition is a monochromatic black appearance package — the antithesis of blinding oncoming traffic with chrome. It comes with a black grille with black R-A-M lettering, as well as black mirrors, black door handles, tow hooks and headlight and taillight bezels. It also includes either 20-inch black wheels for the single-rear-wheel models or 17-inch black wheels for the dually models.
Monochromatic looks are a huge trend in design, both automotive and otherwise. The fashion mavens at Lincoln are now offering a monochromatic package on their entire SUV lineup. Blacked-out detailing packages have been popular for a while on not just trucks but a range of cars, including FCA’s own Fiat 500L. So we’re guessing this sinister look should go down well with customers.
Want to get your hands on a Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition? Well, it won’t come cheap. The Limited model is the top-tier luxury trim; as such, the starting MSRP for Limited Black Edition vehicles will be $62,745. The package will be available on both 4x2 and 4x4 models, and with every engine configuration.
Ram says the Heavy Duty Limited Black Edition will be available for deliveries sometime in the third quarter of 2020. Since we are presently in the third quarter of 2020, expect to spot them very soon.
